He says she is caring, genuine, and outgoing, and she says he is kind, honest, and structured.
Molly and Mitch met their freshman year at Auburn when they were set up to go to a fraternity date party together by a mutual friend. She was sitting in Chick Fil A when he called her to ask if she would be his date and she quickly looked him up on Facebook as they talked. Facebook stalking FTW! She said yes to the date party, they had a blast, and the rest is history! Mitch popped the question on Christmas day surrounded by their families in her parent’s living room. After she said “YES!” they spent the night celebrating with loved ones. I think that is the perfect way to celebrate the start of marriage and wedding planning!
The weather was a DREAM – 75 with a breeze all day. I photographed Molly’s brother, Matthew, and her sister in law, Meredith’s wedding almost 3 years ago also at Dawson Baptist Memorial and it was truly an honor to get to spend time with their family again. Any excuse to hang out with my past clients, I’ll take so I was thrilled to be included in another joyous wedding with the Porter family. It was so fun walking through each wedding day moment with them again but seeing how things were a little different when you have a daughter getting married. Mr. Porter and Molly had the sweetest first look and it’s clear that Molly’s parents have set such an example when it comes to a loving marriage. I caught so many sweet moments between Molly’s parents as well as Mitch’s parents and loved seeing the impact both of their marriages has so obviously had on both Molly and Mitch.
We started the day getting to photograph Molly’s beautiful details and family heirlooms. Molly used Meredith’s veil, her mom’s old pearl bracelet, and the most stunning family ring I have ever seen. Molly’s taste is so timeless that I could have spent all day drooling over her thoughtful details. She also had the cutest embroidered square with her full name and wedding date in blue sewn into her Allure dress. Molly and Mitch had such a sweet first look where they exchanged gifts, giving each other bibles with their new name engraved in them. Molly also surprised Mitch by engraving his wedding band! These two are so easy going and just radiate joy and calmness. Getting to spend time with them and their friends and dance on the trolly to their reception at Events at Haven was such a blast. Molly’s dad gave a beautiful speech at their reception that really summed up the way these two love. Molly truly lights up a room and has a way of making others feel immediately comfortable and loved. Mitch is laid back but attentive. I watched Mitch help Molly up the stairs and open doors for her all day long – always aware of her needs. I think their love truly inspires those around them young and old.
These two fit together so well and it’s so amazing to see what God is already doing and will do through their love and marriage. These two are so clearly loved by everyone who knows them and I am so grateful I got to play a role in their big day. It was a joy to capture the start of your marriage, Molly and Mitch, and I wish you nothing but the best in this new season of your lives!
